The Porta Romano is one of the medieval town gate’s of Gubbio. The 13th Century gatehouse, with its high tower, stands at the east end of the city. It is now a private museum dedicated to medieval gates. Among the collection are old keys and a drawbridge mechanism. The museum also houses a collection of majolica pottery which includes some from the workshop of Mastro Giorgio, and other pieces in various materials, as well as weaponry, maps and so on.
