The Ponte Monumentale Genoa was erected at the beginning of the 20th Century. It stands some 21 metres above the street underneath the Via XX Settembre. The structure links the Acquasola area close to where there is a park with the same name with corso Andrea Potestà. It was in 1949 that the two side arches were dedicated to those who died during the battle for freedom against the enemy. The niches within the arches bare the names of those who died.
