Poggio Renatico Castle

The Castle was built by the order of the Lambertini family between 1475 and 1681. When this family was overshadowed, the castle was sold to the Community of the Poggio and today it is the Town Hall. Its original Gothic style has been kept through the many renovations, in 1475 it was almost rebuilt and again in the 17th Century. A new 8-metre wing was added in the 19th Century to complete a façade that was asymmetrical. The flood of the 1950s caused serious damage to this wing and it was rebuilt by the Municipality.
