This museum is home to a great many wonderful works of art including a 13th Century diptych in a Byzantine portable altar and some fine painted crucifixes. The frescoes include a detached 17th Century one on the legend of St Francis and the Wolf, a Tree of Jesse by a cinquecento Gubbio artist, the quattrocento Madonna del Melograno by Pier Francesco Florentini, a Flight into Egypt by Rutilio Manetti, and an anonymous work of the 1600s called the Last Night of Babylon. The rooms of the Pinacoteca are an attraction in themselves – some haven’t been remodelled since the 16th Century.
