The Piazza Trento Trieste is the thriving centre of the city of Ferrara and dates back to the Middle Ages. The building of the new Cathedral dedicated to St. George grew around the seats of religious, civil and aristocratic power, in the shape of the family who ruled Ferrara. In fact all the city’s seats of power could be found here, as well as the Cathedral, there was the bishop’s house now where the Bishop’s Palace stand, The Palazzo della Ragione, the Notary’s Lodge that stood in the place the clock tower now stands, and the Palazzo Municipale.
