This park spread over some 118 hectares, is much favoured by joggers, horse riders and families with young children. This is more evident on Sunday and Tuesday mornings when a market is held. On the park’s east side towards Piazza Vittorio Veneto there is an open air swimming pool and to the west is an amphitheatre. At the end of the 18th Century important buildings like the Palazzina Reale, currently home to the Facoltà di Agraria dell’Università degli Studi di Firenze (Florence University Science Faculty) were added before the park finally became public at the start of the 19th Century.
