The Parco della Villetta Di Negro can be located in the heart of Genoa. It covers about two hectares and was the site of the city’s first botanical garden in 1780, and later the first zoological garden. There is a path which leads to the top of the hill amid imposing exotic plants, including palm trees, Lebanese cedars, camphor and sequoias. Also here are fountains, lakes with swans and ducks, aviaries of birds, artificial grottoes and a breathtaking waterfall. At the top end of the park there are pine trees, a fishpond and wonderful views over the city.
