The huge Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, with its vast windows, is certainly an impressive site. It was built in a Renaissance style by the banker Filippo Strozzi. He was often known as ‘the first man of Italy’ due to his wealth and influence. To enable him to build this palace, he first bought up and demolished a number of town houses and it took from 1489 to 1536 to complete the project. Visitors can view the interior on certain occasions when the palace is the venue for exhibitions.
