The Palazzo Rosso, built in the second half of the 17th Century, is the largest most aristocratic residence in the city. It owes its name (The Red Palace) to the colour of the exterior plaster on the facade. The only floor to be inhabited is the second floor, which was enriched sometime between the 17th and 18th Century by a series of frescoes by some of the best artists like, Piola, De Ferrari, Carlone, Guidobono and Parodi. Today it is the modern art gallery and a sumptuous aristocratic house.
