The Palazzo del Principe Museum is housed in the rooms of the Palazzo del Principe, built by the architect Andrea Doria in the 16th Century. Now a sumptuous museum, with rooms that are frescoed, walls hung with paintings and rooms of sculptures by famous Ligurian, Italian and foreign artists. There is also a vast array of tapestries and fabrics from many centuries and lands. Here you will find works of art by the likes of Perin del Vaga, Piola, Tavarone, Cambiaso, Tiziano, and Castello. In the gardens there is a monumental marble Neptune’s Fountain by the Carlone brothers.
