The Palazzo dei Consoli (Consul Palace) is an imposing and beautiful structure. The original plans of 1321 and 1322 stated that the buildings had to be erected in a place touching all the different quarters of the town. The marvellous door of the Consul Palace is the work of Angelo da Orvieto. This palace is now home to various important collections including the famous Eugubine Tablets, which are seven bronze sheets that comprise a fundamental epigraphic document of the Umbrian civilization, dating back to the end of the 2nd Century BC.
