The Museo di Geologia e Paleontologia, in the city of Florence, is the most important of its kind in Italy. It brings together some 300,000 examples of fossilized vertebrates, invertebrates and plants as well as rock samples. Some of the most amazing articles to view are the anthropoid monkey of the Maremma, the imprints of Mesozoic reptiles and the non-aviatory New Zealand birds. This is without doubt one of the most fascinating museums in Italy and if you like museums this one is not to be missed.
