The Occhiolà Park sits atop a hill in the Terravecchia district of Grammichele. This was where the medieval settlement of Occhiolà lay before it was destroyed by the 1693 earthquake when refugees founded the new city of Grammichele. The park was set up to protect the archaeological and cultural heritage of the area and visitors are able to take part in guided walks as well as in archaeological excavations. Items discovered here are on display in the Palazzo Comunale, which houses the Municipal Museum.
