The National museum of Antarctica situated in Area Expo’ Ancient Porto in the Millo quarter. Built around 1876, it shares its home with both business activities and restoration work. The newly built exhibition wing houses a display of life pushed to the limits of survival in the Polar Regions. As well as the panel illustrations detailing the history of Italian Artic exploration in the Antarctic, there are accurate reconstructions of the polar environment and examples of animal marine life along with the type of transport and base equipment used.
