The Museo delle Porcellane is sited inside the Boboli gardens and the collection it holds consists mainly of table porcelain used by the Grand Ducal and the Royal households of the Medici, Lorena and Savoy families. The collections are split up into manufacturer and national origin; Italian and French porcelain is shown along with pieces from Doccia - a local Florentine factory. French porcelain from Sevres was brought to Florence from Savoy and part of it is a gift from Napoleon I to his sister Elisa Baiocchi who was the Duchess of Tuscany from 1809 to 1814.
