The Museo degli Argenti was originally designed to be the summer apartment of the Grand Duke. Today this gallery houses a fabulous collection of gold, enamels, cameos, crystals and stone workings that were originally collected by the Medici and the Lorena families. The most important pieces are stone vases that once belonged to Lorenzo the Magnificent, German ivories from the 17th Century, and the jewels of the Salzburg Prince-Bishops. The Great room is decorated with frescoes created by Giovanni da San Giovanni which celebrate the marriage between Ferdinand II and Victoria of Rovere in 1634.
