Garda’s present church dates back to the 16th Century - the bell tower being built in 1571. The interior has a 15th Century fresco of the Madonna and Child of the original building. The cloister is also 15th Century along with its beautiful loggia, friezes, memorial tablets and parts of a Carolingian ciborium. There is a Papal bull of Innocent II (1138) engraved in marble, a 16th Century wooden crucifix, and an altar piece of San Biagio by Palma il Giovane. Brustolon was responsible for the confessionals, and a chapel for war victims is dedicated to the Madonna of Peace.
