The sanctuary of Madonna del Piano di Annifo is dedicated to the cult of the dead, and is also the chapel of the cemetery of Annifo. It was built in the 15th Century, and inside there are frescoes which date back to the 18th Century. It is believed there are earlier frescoes concealed beneath. An annual pilgrimage to the sanctuary takes place each 8 September for the blessing of personal items or objects of worship brought here and placed in contact with the image of the Virgin.
