Professor Arturo Hruska created a botanical garden in Gardone Riviera between 1910 and 1971 which extended for about 1.5 hectares. He had over 500 species planted from every continent and various climates. Since 1988 the garden has been owned by Andre Heller Foundation. Here you will see brooks and fountains, waterfalls and small ponds alongside a forest of bamboo trees. There are also Indian and Moroccan sculptures and art installations. Open from March to October, groups of 15 or more are requested to book in advance and various events are organised in the summer months.
