The architect Michele da Ferla designed the new suburb of Grammichele in the 18th Century. It has a large square at its centre surrounded by a hexagonal-patterned perimeter. Interesting buildings include the churches of the Holy Spirit of San Leonardo, Sant’Anna and San Giuseppe. The Town Hall is housed in the 19th Century Palazzo Municipale and is the work of architect Carlo Sada. This building is also home to the Municipal Museum (on the first floor) and exhibits relics recovered from the Terravecchia district, which was where the ancient city originally lay.
