The Giardino dell’Orticoltura can be found between the Via Vittorio Emanuele and the Via Bolognese near the Ponte Rosso. These gardens were created in 1859 and are home to one of Florence’s more unusual architectural treasures. It was built for the Società Toscana di Orticoltura or the Tuscan Horticultural Society, by the architect Giacomo Roster in 1879 and is an impressive steel and glass pavilion which is used for regular gardening exhibitions. In 1990, a modern fountain was built to enhance the beauty of this park.
