The Galleria del Costume is to be found in Palazzo Pitti’s Neo-classical villa and can be reached through the Boboli gardens. This is one of Florence’s premier galleries, with exhibitions that illustrate the evolution of fashion from the 16th Century right up to 1930. It displays a series of characteristic clothing from each period, accessories and underwear in special showcases all around the walls. The ballroom is nearly always used for displaying subjects that have a fashion theme.
