The DVJ Damasco Velluto Jeans is not just an exhibition of an elaborate collection of fabrics, but also a study centre used by many students. The Town Council, together with the Monuments and Fine Arts Office, thought up the idea for the centre. There are around 1800 precious textiles including laces, old clothes, damasks, velvet and wrought fabrics that date back to the 16th and 19th centuries which are of great artistic value. One section has a vast array of dresses, accessories and undergarments with documentation about the evolution of masculine and feminine fashions between the 18th and 20th centuries.
