The Duomo in Foligno was erected between 1133 and 1512 and restored in the 20th Century to its original Romanesque style. The building has two facades, the main one facing Piazza del Duomo, and the other, more attractive side, facing onto Piazza della Pepubblica. This south front is highly decorated with a wonderful doorway of 1201. There are relief depicting figures of the zodiac as well as a medieval bestiary and panels with geometric patterns. Inside are beautiful paintings including a Madonna and St John by Alunno, and busts of Bartolomeo and Diana Roscioli, believed to be by Bernini.
