The Ducal Palace was built sometime after 1470 following the arrival of Federico da Montefeltro. It is thought to have been started by Federicus Dux and completed by Francesco di Giorgio Martini. The inner yard hall is similar, though smaller than, those of the grand palaces of Urbino. Visitors can admire the beautiful inlays of the door, the square-cell ceiling, and the marble fireplace. Now the palace is a museum and exhibition centre and belongs to the Italian agency for architectural and archaeological patrimony.
