The Collezione Alberto della Ragione dedicated to the engineer Alberto della Ragione donated the series of contemporary works of art to the Florence council in 1970. He wasn’t only passionate about art but came into contact with artists of the period, supporting them in their difficult times. He had helped to set up exhibitions to aid them in getting recognition and acquired many works himself. The works cover the period between 1930 and 1945, the generation of artists who were involved in the renewal of Italian culture between the two world wars.
