The church of San Zeno in Bardolino was noninated a chaplain from San Zeno Abbey who was put forward by the Abbot himself. Mentioned in a document, it is believed to date back to the around the 11th Century. It became abandoned in the 16th Century and restored again in the 19th Century. Not a very impressive exterior, it is the interior that is beautifully arranged, containing a single nave and six columns along the walls surmounted by Ionic capitals.
