The Church of San Matteo in Muslone can be reached by walking along a grassy pathway. This little hamlet – part of Gargnano – was, in medieval times, held under feudal tenure and the church was commissioned by the count of Muslone, Matteo de Medallis, at the beginning of the 15th Century. It became a parish church in 1603, and was rebuilt about 1721. There are some traces of 15th Century frescoes by the artist Bertanza behind the altarpiece of the high altar.
