The church of S. Maria Assunta is located in the village of Navazzo in Gargnano. It was founded in the 16th Century, consecrated by Bishop Antonio Boscaioli on 15 August 1667, and restored in 1722 and in 1930. The front of the church has a large porch and the gardens which surround it have wonderful views over Lake Garda. One of the chapels has frescoes painted pre 16th Century, suggesting the older part of the building. The altarpiece depicting the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and a painting of the Last Supper are by Giovanni Andrea Bertanza.
