The Church of S. Luca, built in 1188 as the family chapel of the Spinola and Grimaldi families. It’s on the Via S. Luca, which used to be the main western point of entry in the 14th Century. Because its strategic position had been emphasised by a dispute between two families for exclusive control King Aragon had to settle it in the middle of the 14th Century. It is one of the few Baroque style churches in the city and has been decorated with a single series of frescoes by D. Piola, which date to the end of the 17th Century.
