The Chiesa SS. Pietro e Paolo is one of the most important churches in Galatina and considered the mother church. It’s dedicated to the Apostles Peter and Paul the patron saints of Galatina. The church dates to the mid 14th Century erected in late baroque style and made from local stone. Inside there are some really beautiful frescoes painted on the vault that portray the life of Saint Peter dating to 1875 alongside the magnificent altars in polychrome marble. One of its greatest assets is the altar of the ancient chapel of the Sacrament that dates to the 17th Century.
