The Cathedral dates from the 12th Century and has a beautiful façade, divided into three sections. It was started in a Romanesque style which is still visible in the lower part. The sculptor, Nicholaus, created the scenes from the New Testament and Saint George above the central door. The splayed mullioned widows depict a beautiful Last Judgement by an unknown sculptor over the central loggia. Occupied by shops since medieval times, the ground level is known as the Loggia of the Merchants. The interior was refurbished in the 17th Century in a classical Roman style.
