Cathedral Museum
Via S. Romano, Ferrara 44100 - Italy

Map

The Cathedral Museum is housed in the former church of San Romano. It is part of the Civic Museums of Ancient Art and holds many objects from the cathedral. Among these items are decorative panels from the organ, depicting the Annunciation and St. George and the Dragon, a masterpiece created by Cosmè Tura. He is a master of the 15th Century Ferrarese School. There are some 13th Century panels from the Porta dei Mesi, from the now demolished side entrance to the cathedral. There is a fantastic collection of illuminated antiphonal hymnbooks, reliquaries, paintings and other works of art.
