Casa Guidi is quite close to the Pitti and was the home of poets Elizabeth Barrett Browning and her husband Robert Browning. This house is where Elizabeth wrote much of the poetry which became her best known work including ‘Casa Guidi Windows’. Although a lot of the original furnishings have been sold, several rooms in the house still conjure up the ambience of the poet. Casa Guidi is even available to rent; this can be done through the Landmark Trust.
