This modest home of the political theorist Antonio Gramsci is now a study centre dedicated to the great man. A library, meeting hall, taped reminiscences of people who knew him and many documents, takes up much of the building. It’s a diverse mix of personal letters to his mother, boyhood photos, toys and his academic and political development. The cell he was imprisoned in at Bari for five years for his anti-fascist activities has been reproduced to exact measurements.
