Casa Buonarroti
Via Ghibellina, 70 Florence 50122 - Italy

Map

The artist, Michelangelo acquired the Casa Buonarroti in 1508. It was enlarged and restructured by his grandson creating a magnificent building that stands as a true monument to the great man’s work. The main eras of the artist’s life are illustrated in the sumptuous rooms and here two works from his youth stand out; the Battle of the Centaurs and the Madonna of the Scala. In the ‘galleria’ there is a collection of works in the planning stage, amongst them the fortifications of Florence and the frontage of San Lorenzo.
