If ever there were a landmark that truly stood out in the city of Florence it would be ‘The Badia bell tower’. This tower, which is still under restoration, is an integral part of the former home of the Benedetti monastery. It was ounded in the 8th Century by the mother of the well known Florentine, Count Hugo of Tuscany. In front of the 15th Century atrium Pandolfini Chapel was rebuilt on the remains of the earlier smaller church of S. Stefano.
