The Archaeological Museum (Museo Archeologico) contains one of the oldest collections in Italy, some of which belonged to the Trinci family. Here visitors to the museum can see plaques, funerary urns, sarcophagi, and epigraphs on display. Perhaps the most interesting exhibit is the fragment of a 3rd Century sarcophagus with a bas-relief showing the chariot races at the Circus Maximus in Rome. The city library is also housed here, along with the state archives and the Archivio Notarile.
