The Aquarius of Genoa museum is one the main tourist draws of Italy attracting millions of visitors every year. Constructed between 1989 and 1992 the coastal atmosphere it reproduces is magnificently done in 46 basins of which four have two different viewing levels. It includes the Nave Italia, former seat of the Italian Pavilion during the Expo of 1992. While it is continually changing it is now home to over 500 different species of reptiles, amphibians, mammals, fish and birds.
