The Anse Vallive constitutes the only remains of the former marshes that once surrounded the village, saved from the recent reclamation of the Valle del Mezzano and set up as an Animal Sanctuary. The four marshy coves are a freshwater wetland biotope that is distinctive and unique in the Ferrarese lowland territory. There are no less than 150 species of aquatic birds that nest or visit this beautiful area. The reserve is well equipped for activities such as bird watching, walking, cycling, horse riding, angling and canoeing.
