The war memorial in the city of Como is an impressive monument. It was designed in the 1930s by Giuseppe Terragni, with the collaboration of his brother Attilio. Terragni is said to have been inspired by a sketch by Antonio Sant’Elia and took his design from this. The monument is built in the shape of a tower and houses a granite monolith which is inscribed with the names of 650 soldiers from Como who lost their lives during the First World War.
