The Villa Belvedere is located at the north of the city of Acireale. The gardens offer a peaceful retreat with a panoramic terrace which affords breath-taking views of Etna and the sea. You will find the statue of Acis and Galatea by Rosario Anastasi here. To the left of the garden’s entrance there is a reproduction of the platform which once adorned the Piazza del Duomo; the square was once called Piazza del Cinque d’Oro, or the square of the golden five, because of its allusion to playing cards reflected in the platform which was surrounded by four flowerbeds.
