The Ferrovie delle Sardegna Company run small gauge trains from the station on slow scenic routes through the interior of Sardinia. There are eight trains a day that run from Cagliari through to Mandas in about 90 minutes. The trip in to the interior takes you on a twisting and sometimes stomach churning journey through the magnificent highlands of the Sarcidano and Barbagia Seulo.
