The Tapestry Museum in Bologna contains a unique collection of 6000 pieces. Here you will find exhibits of silks, brocades, damasks, and oriental, Persian, Indian and Chinese fabrics. There are also precious printed materials from the 17th and 18th Century. Other displays contain ancient hand looms and accessories from around the globe with information about how textiles have been made from the 4th Century up to the present day. The museum has its own restoration laboratory.
