The small church of St Maria del Soccorso can be found close to the archaeological area of Villa Jovis. The present church was built in 1610 on the site of an existing building called the Church of St Leonardo. The interior is quite simple and has vaulted ceilings. The altar was donated by a group of islanders who left these shores for Argentina. There is a painting of the Madonna inside, and next to the church is a statue of her which is visible from the sea. The small sacristy was once a hermitage.
