The in 1583 renowned architect P. Fiorini rebuilt the church of Santa Maria della Carità but it was redesigned by Bergonzoni in 1680. The inside is made up of a single nave and four side chapels as well as those at the far end of the church. The church contains the first known works of the twenty-two year old Annibale Carracci, the Crucifixion. There are also other masterpieces by other artists such as Marcantonio Franceschini and Galanino.
