Sanctuary of Santi Medici
Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Alberobello, Bari 70011 - Italy

Map
The Sanctuary of Santi Medici – or Sanctuary of Saints Cosmo and Damiano – was built on the site of a former church. In 1635 a painting of Madonna di Loreto (Virgin Mary of Loreto) with the saints Cosmo and Damiano at her side was positioned on the high altar. The statue of Saint Cosmo was made in 1782 and the one of Saint Damiano in 1784, with the font added in 1797. The relics of both saints are housed in the sanctuary and in 1820 two bells were donated and the building became the parish church.
