The Pinacoteca is housed in the Palazzo Vitelli alla Cannoniera, the most notable of the various Vitelli palazzos, and is one of the region’s top art galleries. Among the numerous fine works of art here are an enthroned ‘Madonna and Child’ by the Maestro de Citta di Castello from the early 14th Century; a ‘Martyrdom of St Sebasian’ by Luca Signorelli, and several works by Raphael. There is also an early 16th Century ‘Assumption of the Virgin’ in terracotta from the workshop of Andrea della Robbia.
