Palazzo Poggi
Via Zamboni, 33 Bologna 40126 - Italy

Map

This palazzo was built in 1549 and is attributed to Pellegrino Tibaldi. The Torre della Specola was erected by Carlo Francesco Dotti on top of the palazzo and dates back to 1725. The building was bought by the Poggi Family at the end of the 15th Century and changed: precious decorations and frescoes with Prospero Fontana’s subjects, the classic stories of Pellegrino Tibaldi and Nicolò dell’Abate were added. In the 18th Century Luigi Ferninando Marsili turned the building into the experimental research seat of the Science Institute. The Specola Tower, built in 1725 overlooks it.
