The Palaeontology Museum in Bologna is home to various samples of rocks and specimens of ancient vertebrates, invertebrates and flora. Perhaps the most exciting exhibit in the museum is one of the only complete skeletons of a colossal Diplodocus Carnegiei dinosaur. Other things exhibited here include materials from Italian mines and caves, fossil plants and fish, totalling around one million items. Also of interest is the section dedicated to the findings of scientists between the 16th and the 18th Century.
